Longline Coats Over a Dress or a Long Knit
The awkward length is the one that finishes just past the waist, because it cuts everything else in half. A longline coat has no such problem. It closes below whatever is worn under it, so a midi dress on a Friday and a suit trouser on a Monday take the same coat and nothing is left showing at the bottom. Getting dressed in the dark in July becomes a question about what goes underneath instead of what goes over, which is a shorter question.
