Jackets & Coats

An Australian winter throws three kinds of weather at jackets and coats. Padded ones for cold, still air. Windproof shells for wind and showers. Fleece for a cool morning that warms up by ten. Start with the weather you actually get and the choice narrows fast.

Jackets & Coats

Rain Jackets, Shower Proof Shells and Water Resistant Coats

A shell and a padded coat deal with rain in different ways. Our shells are windproof, gale-proof and shower-proof, which is enough for the walk from the car and a wait at a tram stop. The padded ones are water-resistant, which covers the shower you can walk out of. Which one you want comes down to whether you are dressing against the wet or against the cold. Our puffer jackets are the cold end of that, padded for the mornings that never warm up.

Puffers, Bombers, Parkas and Long Coats

After the weather comes the shape. A puffer is padded for a still, cold day and goes over a jumper without feeling like armour. A bomber stops at the hip and suits a mild day with a shirt underneath. Men's jackets and vests and women's jackets and vests split the two sides if you would rather shop one. A parka or a long coat covers more of the leg, and that is the difference you feel standing on a platform in July.
