Women's Jeans
Summer here does not retire a pair of women's jeans, it only changes what goes above them. A tee in February, a knit in July, and the trousers stay exactly where they were. That is a lot resting on one decision, which is why the pair is worth getting properly right and then leaving alone for a long time.
Women's Jeans
Mid Rise and High Rise Denim, Skinny to Wide Leg
Almost everything above the waist gets chosen against the denim and not the other way round. A cropped knit, a shirt tucked in at the front only, a tee left long: three different days, and the trousers never moved. Rise decides what can be tucked in and what cannot, which is why mid rise and high rise are worth reading before skinny, straight or wide leg. Women's bottoms sets denim alongside cords, cargos and tailored trousers. Settle the denim and a wardrobe more or less arranges itself around it.
Denim Hems With Boots, Flats and Sneakers
Where the hem falls changes more than it looks like it should. A leg finishing on the ankle bone puts a boot on show and makes a flat look deliberate. Longer, and the denim breaks over the shoe and softens the whole line, which suits a sneaker and a coat going over the top of everything anyway. Shorter, and the ankle is the point of it. Women's pants covers twill and cord, and women's outlet bottoms holds last season's denim at a lower price. So the last thing to decide is not the cut at all: it is which shoes you expect to be wearing when you put them on.
