Windbreakers from $99

Our windbreakers answer wind rather than cold, which is a different jacket altogether. One goes flat into a bag and comes back out on the walk from the station, which is the whole point of a light jacket.

Windcheaters, Wind Jackets and Hooded Shells

Windcheater is the Australian word for the same jacket, and both belong on this page. A wind jacket sits on a close woven face, which is what makes it so thin and still worth putting on. Ours are windproof and shower-proof, which is enough for a change of weather between an office and a tram. A hood on one turns it from a spring jacket into something you would take to a match in July.

Hooded and Pullover Wind Jackets

A hood is the thing to settle first, because it changes what the jacket is for. With one, you can stand out in a shower and not think about it. Without one, the jacket sits flatter under a bag strap and takes up less room in a bag. Our Men's windbreakers and women's windbreakers pages split the two sides if you already know which. After that comes the opening. A full zip comes off without pulling anything over your head. A pullover keeps the front clean for a print.
